Director Girish AD's new film Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, headlined by Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, went on floors on Friday. The film is produced by Bhavana Studios, headed by Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil, and Syam Pushkaran, the banner that also backed the director's blockbuster rom-com, Premalu.
Girish and his Premalu co-writer Kiran Josey are reuniting for Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, which is also a rom-com. The core technical team from it, including music director Vishnu Vijay, cinematographer Ajmal Sabu, and editor Akash Joseph Varghese, has also been retained.
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit marks Nivin's first outing with the director, while Mamitha has previously worked with him in Super Sharanya and Premalu. Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Bindu Panicker, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Srinda, Shyam Mohan, and Shameer Khan also star in the upcoming film.
Nivin, whose last release, Sarvam Maya, is continuing its successful run, has multiple other upcoming projects, including Baby Girl with Garudan director Arun Varma and a political drama with B Unnikrishnan.
On the other hand, Mamitha is awaiting the release of the Tamil film Jananayagan, in which she plays a prominent role alongside Vijay. She also has a film with Suriya, directed by Lucky Baskhar-fame Venky Bhaskar, coming up. In Malayalam, she has signed for Thanneer Mathan Dinangal co-writer Dinoy Paulose's directorial debut, also starring Sangeeth Prathap.
