We enter a new year with many exciting projects lying ahead. What about the year gone by? Which are the highest-grossing Indian films of 2025? Earlier, we reported about Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar topping the list, having already grossed over 1100 crore from theatres worldwide. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, second on the list is Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1, which has grossed 852 crore at the global box office. The film, also starring Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah, among others, did great business thanks to its dubbed versions performing in different parts of India.
The third spot is occupied by Laxman Utekar's Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal. According to Sacnilk, the film earned 808 crore from theatres worldwide.
Mohit Suri's Saiyaara and Lokesh Kanagaraj-Rajinikanth's Coolie round out the top five highest-grossing Indian films of 2025 list. As reported earlier, Coolie is also the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025, which is rather remarkable considering the negative reviews for the film.
The five films in the bottom half of the list are Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR's War 2, Mahavatar Narsimha, Kalyani Priyadarshan's Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG, and the multistarrer Housefull 5. These films, except for Lokah, did not get overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics.
As reported earlier, director Dominic Arun's Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has also become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.
