Filmmaker Aamir Pallikal’s third directorial Prempaatta will go on floors on March 25. The announcement was made by the film’s writer, Lijeesh Kumar, who shared a group photograph on social media featuring the selected cast. “The auditions for the NSS camp participants have concluded. These are the final selected ‘Premapattakal.’ More than 40 newcomers are set to enter Malayalam cinema. The shoot of Prempaatta will commence on March 25,” he wrote.
Prempaatta is produced under Aamir’s newly launched banner Studio Outsiders, with music director Ankit Menon serving as co-producer. Already announced cast members include Joemon Jyothir, Junaiz V P, Saafboi, Saiju Kurup, Mamta Mohandas, Rajesh Madhavan, Siddique, Sanju Sivram, Irshad Ali, Sujith Shanker, Aswin Vijayan, Tiss Thomas, Innocent and Hanan Shah.
As per the makers, the film is a campus-set story inspired by the energy and camaraderie of NSS camps. Aamir has previously stated that the project is conceived as the first full-length Malayalam film set entirely within an NSS camp, aiming to explore campus nostalgia, youthful friendships, music and romance. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Shaji Kumar and editing by Akash Varghese Joseph.
Aamir is known for helming the Manju Warrier-starrer Ayisha and Suraj Venjaramoodu's ED – Extra Decent.
