The makers of Patriot on Monday announced that Mammootty has completed dubbing for his portions in the upcoming espionage thriller. The update was shared on social media along with a video from the dubbing studio featuring Mammootty and the film’s writer-director, Mahesh Narayanan. The caption read: “Aura unmatched. Presence undeniable. Mammootty wraps up dubbing for #Patriot.”
The development comes days after Mohanlal finished dubbing for his role in the film, which reunites the two acting titans of Malayalam cinema on screen after a long gap, since their brief appearance in the 2013 film Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty.
The ensemble cast of Patriot also includes Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, Rajeev Menon, Revathy, Darshana Rajendran and Zarin Shihab, among others. The film, slated for a worldwide release on April 23, is backed by Anto Joseph, with C R Salim and Subhash Manuel serving as co-producers. Mahesh also serves as one of the editors alongside Rahul Radhakrishnan, with Sushin Shyam composing the music and Manush Nandan handling cinematography.
Beyond Patriot, Mammootty has several other projects in the works. He has completed shooting for Ranjith’s upcoming film, in which he reprises the role of Karikkamuri Shanmughan, more than two decades after the 2004 film Black. The veteran actor is also reuniting with Adoor Gopalakrishnan for Padayaatra, besides collaborating with Falimy director Nithish Sahadev on his next venture. He is further set to make his return to Tamil cinema with Dhanush’s tentatively titled D 55, to be helmed by Amaran-fame Rajkumar Periasamy.
