Recently, we reported about Radikaa Sarathkumar praising director Akhil Sathyan's film Sarvam Maya upon its release on JioHotstar after its successful theatrical run. At the time, Radikaa said that she enjoyed watching the "heartwarming film" with her actor husband Sarathkumar. Earlier today, the actor shared a photograph featuring her alongside the film's director Akhil from their recent meeting. She said that it was "a pleasure" to meet the filmmaker. "Wishing him more power in his journey of cinema. Waiting for his next movie," the actor wrote.
The other day, she said that the film made her and Sarathkumar laugh, smile and well up with emotions. Saying that she "loved" the film, the actor appreciated Nivin Pauly's performance in it, noting down that he moulded himself into the character "so well". Nivin later thanked Radikaa Sarathkumar for her assessment of his performance in the horror-comedy film.
Radikaa also found Riya Shibu's performance one of the film's strong suits. Interestingly, Akhil recently revealed that the makers planned to cast Preethi Mukundan in the role of Delulu and not Riya herself. Riya came onboard much later after the makers felt that casting Preethi in the role would turn it into a more traditional love story. Subsequently, he chose Riya.
For the uninitiated, Sarvam Maya tells the story of Nivin Pauly's character, a musician who turns to priesthood to make ends meet after losing his job as a guitarist in a music troupe. Prabhendu's (Nivin) life undergoes drastic changes when a ghost (Riya Shibu) enters it after one of his exorcism sessions.
The film did quite well at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing project in Nivin Pauly's career. In fact, the film continued to run in select theatres even after its digital premiere.
