Padakkalam-fame Arun Pradeep and Prakambanam actor Subin Tarzan play the lead roles in a new Malayalam romantic comedy titled Middle Class Mathukkutty, which recently went on floors following its pooja ceremony at the Anchumana Devi Temple in Kochi. The film is written, edited and directed by Midhun Jyothi, who earlier helmed the 2023 film 18+ and the yet-to-be-released Merry Christmas.
Middle Class Mathukkutty also features Dayyana Hameed, Anandhalakshmi R K, Srikant Murali, Karthik Ramakrishnan, Abhay Krishna, Gineesh Govind, A K Vijubal and Selvaraj, among others. On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Binu, music composed by Samuel Paul, and art direction by Arun Mohan. It is backed by Komala Hari Pictures, which earlier co-produced the Tamil film Gentlewoman, starring Lijomol Jose, and Midhun’s Merry Christmas.
Arun, who is also a social media content creator, was last seen in the Mohanlal-starrer Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad.
Subin is also part of Neeraj Madhav-Althaf Salim’s science fiction comedy Pluto.
