

Director Jude Anthany Joseph's Thudakkam, starring Vismaya Mohanlal and Aashish Joe Antony, may have received mixed reviews from critics, but the film has maintained its solid start from day 1 on the subsequent days as well. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, it earned 3.60 crore from theatres in India on Saturday, around one crore more than what it minted on its release day, and 2.90 crore so far this Sunday. This takes the overall Thudakkam box office collection to 10.56 crore so far.
Sacnilk is yet to offer global box office data for the film. However, according to industry tracker AB George, the film earned 6.93 crore and 8.25 crore from theatres worldwide on release day and Saturday, respectively. Going by the aforementioned figure, the global box office collection for the film for stands at 15.20 crore for the first two days.
The thriller follows a youngster (Vismaya) who has to summon up much bravado and determination as she gets into a fight for survival. Set against an intense backdrop, it explores elements of resilience, hope, and choices which help shape human destiny.
In a recent conversation with CE, the film's co-writer Akhil Krishna said that the "emotional father-daughter" bond is its core element.
Thudakkam marks the acting debuts of Vismaya and Aashish. In addition to them, it stars Mohanlal, Sai Kumar, Bobby Kurian, Manoj K Jayan, Ganesh kumar, Aswin, Essa, Kottayam Ramesh, Jaya Kurup, and Jaffar Idukki.
Its technical team includes cinematographers Akhil George, Jomon T John, additional director of photography Sudeep Elamon, music director Jakes Bejoy, editor Chaman Chakko, sound designer Vishnu Govind, and action choreographers Yannick Ben and Stunt Silva.
