Less than three months after going on the floors, the shooting of Jayasurya's military action thriller Operation Tral has been wrapped up. The makers announced the completion of shooting with a video featuring snippets from the sets and the pack-up party, where the cast and crew shared their experiences.
Operation Tral marks the directorial debut of composer Ratheesh Vega, who has also written the script and handled its music department. Billed as the first Malayalam film to be set against the backdrop of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), it has Jayasurya as an NIA officer named Harshavardhan.
As per the makers, Operation Tral revolves around a deadly convoy attack in Kashmir and the intelligence operations that follow. It is inspired by the encounters between Indian armed forces and militants in Tral, Jammu and Kashmir.
The ensemble cast also includes Ritika Singh, Vinay Rai, Amyra Dastur, Siddique, Saikumar, Anson Paul, Nandu, Murali Sharma, Tarun Arora and Akshay Radhakrishnan, among others. The technical crew includes cinematographer Najose, editor Shafeeque VB, and production designer Sajeesh Thamarassery. Joby George's Goodwill Entertainments is backing the film, planned for a pan-India release.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Jayasurya's new film, Mayan - Chapter 1 commenced recently in Russia. Kalamkaval director Jithin K Jose is directing this mystery thriller about occult practices and rituals.
Jayasurya also has the much-hyped Kathanar and Titans, co-starring Vinayakan, expected to release later this year.
