The team also confirmed that advance bookings across India will open on April 28 from 9am. The film’s first-day-first-show has been scheduled for 9.15am on May 1, when it arrives in cinemas.
Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot marks the on-screen reunion of Mammootty and Mohanlal after several years and is among the most anticipated Malayalam releases of 2026. Producer Anto Joseph recently dismissed reports claiming the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had asked for a villain’s name to be changed because of similarities to that of a politician’s son. He confirmed that certain modifications were suggested by the board, but said they did not significantly affect the core story.
Patriot also stars Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathy, Darshana Rajendran, Geethi Sangeetha, Zarin Shihab and Grace Antony, among others. Produced by Anto Joseph along with KG Anil Kumar, the film has music by Sushin Shyam, cinematography by Manush Nandan, with editing handled jointly by Mahesh and Rahul Radhakrishnan.
