Recently, we reported about Jayasurya playing the lead role in a film titled Operation Tral, marking the directorial debut of composer Ratheesh Vega. Earlier this Saturday, the film's makers dropped a poster giving a first look at Jayasurya's character in it. The actor plays an intelligence agent who works for NIA in the film, which the makers bill as a "gripping investigative thriller".

Operation Tral follows a fatal Kashmir convoy ambush, which spurs intense national pride, blurring the lines between politics and patriotism. Produced by Joby George Thadathil of the Goodwill Entertainments banner, with Sunimol Joby serving as its co-producer, the film takes inspiration from elite intelligence missions in India. According to the makers, the film explores what it means to be patriotic in the true essence of the word.

Speaking about the film, Jayasurya said, "Operation Tral stands out as one of the most exciting and challenging projects in my career. It brings together high-octane action with a powerful narrative rooted in national security. Every sequence is designed to feel real and I’m excited for audiences to experience its massive scale. This film carries a strong message and I hope it resonates with audiences across the country."

On the other hand, director Ratheesh Vega added, "In a world where terror wears many faces, I wanted to explore the silent battles fought in the shadows by those who protect our nation without recognition. This film is a humble attempt to step into the unseen world of intelligence agencies and reflect the quiet strength of those who carry the weight of the nation, often without ever being seen."

On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Najose, background score and music by Ratheesh Vega himself, editing by Shafeeque VB, production design by Sajeesh Thamarassery, and and art direction by Suneesh Sodharan.

Besides Malayalam, the film is expected to hit theatres in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu.
