As the shooting of Jayasurya's next with Kalamkaval-fame Jithin K Jose is expected to commence soon, there is a growing buzz that the film will be a dark thriller exploring black magic and the haunting ritual of Karuthachan Oottu. Notably, Prithviraj Sukumaran's 2017 film Adam Joan also dealt with shades of similar themes.
The upcoming film is being jointly written by director Jithin and veteran filmmaker Raffi. Key technicians from Kalamkaval, including cinematographer Faisal Ali, editor Praveen Prabhakar and music director Mujeeb Majeed, are also part of the team. It is produced by Rajeev Govindan's Magic Moon Productions. He has previously backed films such as Ordinary and Anarkali.
Jayasurya, last seen in Aadu 3: One Last Ride - Part 1, has the ambitious fantasy entertainer Kathanar and an untitled film with Anugraheethan Antony director Prince Joy lined up for release later this year. The actor will also lead Ratheesh Vega's directorial debut Operation Tral, a military actioner planned as a pan India project.
