On Thursday, the makers of writer-director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval's Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil, starring Kunchacko Boban, dropped a trailer and announced the release date of the film. Produced by Listin Stephen of Magic Frames and Kunchacko Boban himself under his Udaya Pictures banner, the film is slated for an April 15 release in theatres. It also stars Dileesh Pothen, Sajin Gopu, Sharanya, Chidambaram, Rajesh Madhavan, Jaffer Idukki, and Sudheesh, among others.
Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil is set in Wayanad. Going by the trailer, the film mainly follows the characters of Kunchacko Boban, Dileesh Pothen, and Sajin Gopu, each with mysteries of their own. Kunchacko Boban plays a local health centre staffer, whereas Chidambaram portrays a police officer and Sajin Gopu is described as 'a revolutionary' at one point of the trailer.
While the makers do not spoil the plot in the Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil trailer, it builds further intrigue regarding the movie.
The film brings Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval back together with Kunchacko Boban, Rajesh Madhavan and Sudheesh after 2024's Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hrudayahariyaya Pranayakadha. Kunchacko Boban played a cameo role as Kozhummal Rajeevan in the 2024 film that he reprised from Nna Thaan Case Kodu, the 2022 satire starring him and directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval.
Also featuring Listin's brother Justin Stephen as a co-producer, the film has cinematography by Arjun Sethu, music by Dawn Vincent, editing by Manoj Kannoth, and stunts by Vicky Nandagopal.
Last seen in director Jithu Ashraf's Officer on Duty, Kunchacko Boban's upcoming films also include the multistarrer Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan. Also featuring Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, Revathy, and Darshana Rajendran, among others, Patriot is slated for a May 01 release in theatres worldwide.
