

Filmmaker Omar Lulu has announced a sequel to his 2016 debut romantic comedy Happy Wedding. The director shared the update on social media, stating that the second instalment, set in the same genre as the original, will be released soon. Further details regarding the cast, crew and production timeline have not yet been disclosed.
Happy Wedding, which starred Siju Wilson, Sharafudheen and Soubin Shahir, remains Omar Lulu’s most notable work. The film, scripted by Manesh K S and Praneesh Vijayan, emerged as a sleeper hit at the box office and received positive audience response upon release. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Sinu Sidharth, music by Arun Muraleedharan and background score by Vimal T K. Drishya Raghunath played the female lead, while Anu Sithara, Grace Antony and Mareena Michael also appeared in key roles.
Omar Lulu last directed the 2024 action comedy Bad Boyz.
