Mammootty has personally announced his return to work. On Tuesday, the veteran actor shared a photo on his social media handles, where he appears in sunglasses, leaning casually in front of his car. “Back to doing what I love most in life after a short break. Words aren’t enough to Thank everyone who checked on me during my absence. The camera is calling… 😊” he captioned, striking a chord with fans who had been eagerly awaiting such an update.

The post, quickly flooded with likes and comments, came as media outlets simultaneously reported sightings of Mammootty at the airport as he made his way to Hyderabad. The actor is set to join the next schedule of Mahesh Narayanan’s ambitious multistarrer, currently referred to as MMMN. Though officially still tentatively titled, co-star Mohanlal had earlier revealed the film’s actual name to be Patriot.

Mammootty’s return has sparked a wave of joy across social media, with fans, industry colleagues and well-wishers welcoming the news after months of uncertainty. His brief absence from sets had earlier fuelled speculation about his health, but his team had clarified it was only a temporary break.

On the release front, Mammootty will next be seen in Kalamkaval, alongside Vinayakan. The film has already drawn attention for casting the veteran in what is described as a morally grey role. He also recently lent his voice to the character of Moothon in Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, with plans for his return in the upcoming instalments of Arun Dominic’s folklore-inspired franchise.
