The teaser of Paathirathri, the upcoming crime thriller starring Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir in the lead, will be unveiled on September 22 at 5 pm. The teaser will be released by Mammootty through the social media handles of his banner Mammootty Kampany, the makers announced on Sunday.
Helmed by Ratheena, who made her directorial debut with Mammootty’s critically acclaimed film Puzhu (2022), Paathirathri is set against the backdrop of a village in Idukki and is billed as a police drama based on a true story. The film reportedly unfolds over the course of a single night, centring on two police officers.
Along with Navya and Soubin, it also features Ann Augustine and Sunny Wayne in pivotal roles, with Shabareesh Varma, Athmiya and Indrans part of the cast. The screenplay is by Shaji Maraad, co-writer of Ela Veezha Poonchira.
On the technical side, Paathirathri has cinematography by Shehnad Jalal, editing by Sreejith Sarang and music by Jakes Bejoy. The film is produced by KV Abdul Nazer and Ashiya Nazar under the banner of Benzy Productions and is slated for release in October.
Navya also has Varaaham with Suresh Gopi in the pipeline, while Soubin was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, as an antagonist opposite Rajinikanth.
