Fahadh Faasil and Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira (OKCK) will begin streaming on Netflix from September 26. The Malayalam film will be available along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
Written and directed by Althaf Salim, who made his debut with the Nivin Pauly-starrer Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, it was released in cinemas on August 29 as part of the Onam line-up. Despite strong pre-release interest, it opened to mixed reviews and ended its run as a commercial failure, according to trade reports.
OKCK follows Aby (Fahadh) and Nidhi (Kalyani) as their wedding plans are disrupted by an unforeseen accident, setting off a chain of quirky events. Produced by Ashiq Usman, the film also stars Lal, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Babu Antony, Noby Marcose and Vineeth Vasudevan, among others. The technical crew includes cinematographer Jinto George, editor Nidhin Raj Arol, composer Justin Varghese and production designer Ashwini Kale.
An excerpt from the CE review noted: “With its overall fun vibe and a stellar cast, OKCK could have well been the dark horse of the season, but with all the tonal inconsistencies and a messy narrative that takes one too many detours, it somehow limps its way to the finishing line.”
