The makers of the Mathew Thomas-starrer Nellikkampoyil Night Riders unveiled the film's trailer on Tuesday. Slated to hit theatres on October 24, it marks the directorial debut of seasoned editor Noufal Abdullah and is jointly scripted by Jyothish M and Sunu AV, the writing duo behind Pranaya Vilasam.
The trailer of Night Riders opens on the film's female lead, played by Meenakshi Unnikrishnan, who proudly recounts how her partner Shyam once helped catch a notorious burglar in their sleepy town. The cutaways tease fragments of old folklore and restless nights. Mathew Thomas appears as Shyam, a soft-hearted romantic forced to confront his worst nightmares with a band of loyal friends. Brief flashes of combat hint that he may be taking on a far more hot-blooded role than the ones he has done before. The trailer ends with quick shots of a ghostly presence and a shadowy figure. The film promises to be an entertaining, action-packed horror comedy.
Night Riders also features Aavesham-fame Roshan Shanavas, Sarath Sabha, Abu Salim, Rony David Raj, Vishnu Agasthya, Merin Philip, Sinil Sainuddin, Noushad Ali, Naseer Sankranthy, and Chaithra Praveen. The film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Abhilash Shankar, composers Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha S Nair, with editing handled by Noufal himself. It is backed by Abbas Thirunavaya, Sajin Ali and Hamza Thirunavaya, with Vimal TK, Kapil Jhaveri and Gurmeet Singh serving as co-producers.
