Former Malayalam actor Parvathy Jayaram has shared a video of herself dancing to the song 'Varaha Roopam' from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, calling it a personal dedication to the film’s music and makers. Posting the clip on Sunday, she said the music has lived within her since the release of Kantara, and wrote that with Kantara: Chapter 1 it “rose again — haunting, divine, unshakable.”

In her caption, Parvathy expressed gratitude to composer Ajaneesh Loknath for what she called an “ethereal score”, to Rishab Shetty for the “soul-stirring creation”, and to cinematographer Arvind S Kashyap for turning vision “into a visual symphony”. She dedicated the performance to her husband, Jayaram, who appears in Kantara: Chapter 1 as King Vijayendra, writing, “And last but never least to my king, Rajasekhara — my husband, Jayaram — thank you all for the magic that stays with the soul.”

'Varaha Roopam' became the most recognisable musical motif of the Kantara franchise. Rooted in folk idioms and ritualistic soundscapes, the track blends traditional instrumentation with a brooding choral swell that mirrors the film’s spiritual and mythic undertow. Its climactic placement in the 2022 original turned it into a cultural phenomenon. The song was also at the centre of a plagiarism controversy, after Kerala band Thaikkudam Bridge alleged that it was substantially similar to their track 'Navarasam'. The dispute led to takedown orders and temporary removal of the song from several platforms before the matter was settled and the track was reinstated.

Her filmography includes widely acclaimed titles such as Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Thoovanathumbikal, Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu, Aparan, Vadakkunokkiyantram, 1921, Kireedam, Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal, Artham, Utharam, Jagratha, Akkare Akkare Akkare and Kamaladalam, among others.
