Pranav Mohanlal’s Dies Irae, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, has been confirmed to hit screens on October 31 after it cleared the censoring formalities on Thursday with an A certificate. The horror thriller’s release coincides with Halloween.
'Dies Irae' is a Latin term meaning ‘Day of Wrath’, which originates from a hymn associated with judgement and mortality. It is Rahul’s fourth successive horror film, after Red Rain, Bhoothakaalam, and Bramayugam. The new film, which, according to the makers, is based on some true events, also stars Jibin Gopinath and Manohari Joy in important roles.
Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth of Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, who jointly backed the director’s Bramayugam, are also producing Dies Irae. Cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, composer Christo Xavier, production designer Jothish Shankar, and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali, who were all part of Bramayugam, have been retained.
