Ever since the release of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Kalyani Priyadarshan's role as Kalliyankattu Neeli/Chandra in the latest industry hit has found a major place in pop culture discussions among fans and film buffs. However, do you know that Neeli is not the only such character to make a mark among the modern-day Malayali? Actor Anumol played a character whom her husband (Fahadh Faasil) suspects is a 'Yakshi' in 2013's Akam, directed by Shalini Usha Nair. A while ago, the actor took to Instagram to remind us of her own 'Yakshi' from the bygone times. Posting a photograph of her character from the film, she wrote, "How many of you remember this Yakshi? All the Neeli discussions made me miss Ragini even more.." She called it a "character close to" her heart.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra writer Santhy Balachandran responded to Anumol's post with a "heart eyes" emoticon.

A psychological thriller, Akam is based on Malayattoor Ramakrishnan's novel Yakshi. The film showcased Anumol's acting prowess in a role as a woman trapped in a toxic relationship. It also has an early great Fahadh Faasil performance, showing signs of the great actor he will become later in his career. There is also an eponymous 1967 film based on the novel, starring Sathyan and Sharada, and featuring a screenplay adapted by Thoppil Bhasi.
