Those behind two of last year's complex puzzle films, director Dinjith Ayyathan of Kishkindha Kaandam and actor Sandeep Pradeep of Padakkalam, are joining hands for what seems like another mind-bender. Earlier today, the makers of Eko dropped a roughly two-minute-long trailer for the film. Just like his previous film Kishkindha Kaandam, the trailer for Dinjith Ayyathan's next also does not give away anything about the film's plot. At one point, the Eko trailer shows the image of two dogs running away, followed by a piece of text that says, "Final chapter of the animal trilogy". For the uninitiated, animals and nature play a key part in Eko writer and cinematographer Bahul Ramesh's Kishkindha Kaandam and Kerala Crime Files S2. The film reunites Dinjith with his Kishkindha Kaandam writer and cinematographer Bahul Ramesh. Also its cinematographer, Bahul is credited with the film's story, screenplay and dialogues.

The trailer keeps mentioning a character named Kuriachan and his connections with dogs, police officers, and Navy officers. A line below the title says, "From the infinite chronicles of Kuriachan."

At one point of the trailer, Sandeep's character goes in search of something with a torch. At a different point, Vineeth's character says, "Human beings cannot gauge each other at the same level as dogs measure the former." And at another point, it shows an anxious-looking Binu Pappu and a Narain character, saying, "I know you are here, b******." Is Binu Pappu playing Kuriachan, and is he the one who goes missing in the hillstation? With a Dinjith Ayyathan film, one can never be sure before watching the whole drama.

The film's cast also includes Ashokan, Biana Momin, NG Hung Shen, Sim Zhi Fei, Saheer Muhammed, and Ranjith Shekhar. Also coming back with Dinjith after Kishkindha Kaandam are composer Mujeeb Majeed and editor Sooraj ES.

Produced by MRK Jhayaram under his Aaradyaa Studios banner in its maiden venture, Eko is slated for a November 21 release in theatres. Also releasing on the same day is the Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Vilaayath Budha.
