On Tuesday, Marco actor Unni Mukundan issued a detailed statement on social media, firmly denying the allegations of physical assault and death threats made against him by Vipin Kumar, a public relations officer. In his post, Unni clarified that Vipin first approached him in 2018, presenting himself as a PRO associated with several industry celebrities. However, Unni stressed that Vipin was never formally appointed as his personal manager.

According to Unni, the first significant dispute with Vipin arose during the shooting of Marco, when Vipin allegedly clashed with an employee of Obscura Entertainments, causing public disruption. Unni also accused Vipin of demanding exclusive credit for the film’s success, something Unni described as unethical and against his professional principles. The actor further revealed that over time, he began receiving complaints about Vipin from various filmmakers, citing gossip and unprofessional conduct. “This individual had done something extremely unforgiving as a work colleague and a friend,” Unni stated, describing Vipin’s actions as harmful to his professional reputation.

When Unni confronted Vipin directly, the latter allegedly dismissed his concerns and later apologised in the presence of their mutual friend Vishnu Unnithan. Unni claimed that despite requesting a written apology from Vipin, he was instead faced with “false, fake, and alarming allegations” circulating online. Unni firmly denied all claims of physical violence, stating that “there was no physical attack at any point of time as he claims and the allegations put forth are absolutely false and untrue.” He pointed out that the location where the confrontation occurred is covered by CCTV cameras and urged people to verify the facts before forming an opinion.

In his statement, Unni accused Vipin of spreading damaging rumours about him, manipulating professional relationships, and even making inappropriate personal overtures. “Every word spoken by this individual is an absolute lie,” Unni wrote. He described Vipin’s actions as an attempt to gain undue benefits and alleged that certain individuals unhappy with his personal and professional success may be supporting Vipin’s claims.

Writer-director Midhun Manuel Thomas, who is scripting Unni’s recently announced directorial debut, has endorsed the actor's latest statement. Vipin has claimed that the project has now hit a roadblock as the production company Sree Gokulam Movies has backed out of it, a claim both Unni and Midhun are yet to specifically clarify.

Unni concluded by expressing his belief in truth and integrity, vowing to continue his work despite the controversy. “I believe in truth, though I may be subjected to all sort of victimisation and harassment,” he wrote.
