Actor Asif Ali joined X on Saturday and shared a note on the platform about his new film Tiki Taka and his expectations for it. The actor, who has pinned high hopes on the film, stated that the team is "attempting to provide a never-before experience—to create an unapologetic commercial cinema for the mass euphoria of the big screen, loaded with action."
Directed by Rohith VS, with whom Asif had earlier collaborated on Adventures of Omanakuttan and Ibilis, Tiki Taka is shaping up as the biggest film in the actor's career. In the note, he called it a film that demands a lot of blood and sweat. He recounted the efforts he took for the film, which included "physical transformation and mastering the art of fighting". But an unfortunate accident in 2023 resulted in temporarily shelving the film. Asif added that the accident resulted in losing all the progress he had made over a year to prepare for the character. However, the actor sounded confident with the shoot resuming in full swing after 18 months. "I've endured the process once more to meet what the movie demands—more sweat and blood—this time with a healing leg from meniscus and ligament tears."
Tiki Taka, as per the initial announcement, also stars Lukman Avaran, Wamiqa Gabbi, Naslen Gafoor, Sanchana Natarajan, Harisree Ashokan, and Santhosh Prathap in prominent roles. It is bankrolled by Siju Mathew and Navis Xaviour under Juvis Production in association with Adventures Company. The film's technical crew consists of cinematographer Sony Seban, composer Dawn Vincet, and editor Chaman Chakko.
