Alappuzha Gymkhana Trailer: Naslen-starrer promises to be a fun-filled sports comedy

The trailer of Khalid Rahman’s upcoming boxing-based comedy Alappuzha Gymkhana, featuring Naslen in the lead role, was unveiled on Wednesday. The film is jointly scripted by Khalid and Sreeni Saseendran, with dialogues penned by Ishq-fame Ratheesh Ravi. It also features Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi, Falimy actor Sandeep Pradeep, Anagha Ravi and Kottayam Nazeer in prominent roles.

The trailer of Alappuzha Gymkhana opens with a shot of a boat cruising through the Alappuzha backwaters before introducing Naslen and his gang as they pick a fight with someone, followed by visuals of them in boxing attire. The group then arrives at a boxing institute, seeking admission. Amidst scenes of a championship, we are introduced to Lukman’s character, a national-level boxing player. Lukman is later seen training Naslen and his gang, who also find themselves in trouble at various points. The trailer then introduces the women in Naslen’s life, possibly hinting at romantic interests. We also see Naslen and his gang competing in the ring for a championship, with a referee telling Lukman that they are not skilled enough to compete. The trailer concludes with Naslen firmly telling his mother, "We'll see if I come back in an ambulance or as a champion!" The film promises to be a fun-filled sports comedy centred around boxing.

Alappuzha Gymkhana also stars Franco Francis, rapper Baby Jean, Shiva Hariharan, Shon Joy, Karthik, Nanda Nishant and Noila Francy. On the technical front, the film reunites cinematographer Jimshi Khalid, editor Nishadh Yusuf and composer Vishnu Vijay, the trio who previously collaborated with Khalid on the blockbuster film Thallumaala (2022).
