
Earlier, we reported that director-actor Cheran makes his Malayalam debut in Narivetta, starring Tovino Thomas in the lead role. Earlier today, the film's makers released a poster offering a first look at Cheran's character, a police officer named R Keshavdas. "He may be God or he may be evil, but there's no history that excludes him," reads the caption of the announcement from the makers.
Directed by Anuraj Manohar of Ishq fame, Narivetta also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Arya Salim, Priyamvada Krishnan, and Rini Udayakumar. The film marks the debut of scriptwriter Abin Joseph, a journalist and short story writer who won the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar award.
Tippu Shah and Shiyas Hassan are producing the film under the banner Indian Film Company. The makers are yet to reveal any plot details, but according to reports, the film is based on real events.
The technical team includes composer Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Vijay of Iratta fame, and editor Shameer Muhammed.
Production on Narivetta was wrapped earlier this year. The makers are yet to announce a release date.
