The first look of Kolahalam has been unveiled by the makers through social media. The poster predominantly focuses on a chenda (a type of drum used in Kerala's temple festivals) placed on a banana leaf, with a traditional Kerala lamp in front of it, suggesting a temple setting. The film, scripted by Vishal Viswanathan, is directed by Rasheed Parambil, who previously helmed the 2023 film Bhagavan Dasante Ramarajyam.
Billed as a family drama, Kolahalam stars Santosh Puthan, Kumar Sunil, Achuthanandan, Swathi Mohan, Chithra Prasad, Priya Sreejith, Anusha Aravindakshan, Rajesh Nair, Sathyan Chavara, Vishnu Balakrishnan, Vishal Viswanathan, Sharan Panicker, Sathyan Prabhapuram, Afsal Azeez, Dilsha, Aarathi Muraleedharan, Devi Krishna, and Jayaram Ramu. On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Shihab Ongallur, editing by Shabeer P and music by Vishnu Sivasankar. It is produced by Santhosh Puthan, with Rajesh Nair, Sudhi Payyappat and Jack Chembirika serving as co-producers.
