After much speculation, it has finally been confirmed that the shooting for Drishyam 3 will begin in October 2025. Aashirvad Cinemas, the production house backing the film, shared the update with a short video featuring some light-hearted moments between lead actor Mohanlal, producer Antony Perumbavoor, and director Jeethu Joseph. The Drishyam franchise, which started in 2013, followed by the sequel in 2021, is expected to culminate with the third instalment. More details regarding the returning cast and technical crew members are awaited.
Drishyam 3 will be Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph's fifth outing together after the two Drishyam films, 12th Man, and Neru. The two are also collaborating on the ambitious globe-trotting thriller Ram, which is stuck halfway due to production issues. The director is currently busy with the shoot of his new film Valathu Vashathe Kallan, starring Biju Menon and Joju George. Jeethu also has Mirage, headlined by Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in the post-production stage.
Mohanlal will be next seen in the multilingual period epic Kannappa, slated for release on June 27. In Malayalam, he has Sathyan Anthikad's Hridayapoorvam, set for an Onam release this year.
