Fahadh Faasil wants to remake the Mohanlal-Padmarajan film Season. The actor said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India that he has asked filmmaker Amal Neerad about the possibility of a Season remake. "I have been begging him. If he calls me, I will do it," said Fahadh about working with Amal Neerad on the remake.
Fahadh is yet to feature in a direct remake of a previously released film as a lead actor. He has mostly acted in films with original screenplays and characters.
Fahadh Faasil has collaborated with filmmaker Amal Neerad on Iyobinte Pustakam (2014), Varathan (2018), and Bougainvillea (2024). Amal also served as a cinematographer on Fahadh's 2020 film Trance, with director Anwar Rasheed.
Season follows Mohanlal's Jeevan, who is falsely convicted and imprisoned for a murder he did not commit. After executing a jailbreak with the real killer, Fabien (Gavin Packard), Jeevan's sole aim is to exact revenge for the injustice he suffered. The film is best known for Padmarajan's distinctive direction, with a non-linear narrative cutting between the past and the present, Mohanlal's enigmatic performance, and Ilaiyaraaja's music.
Fahadh's latest film is Maareesan, which brings him back together with his Maamannan co-star Vadivelu. His upcoming films include Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, Don't Trouble the Trouble, Torpedo, and Karate Chandran.
