Hridayapoorvam, the upcoming Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad film, will now release on August 28, as confirmed by the makers on Sunday through social media. Though the film was initially listed for an August 25 release in Aashirvad Cinemas’ 2025 slate, the revised date keeps it within the Onam holiday window. The announcement was accompanied by a new poster featuring Mohanlal and Premalu-fame Sangeeth Prathap in a playful moment, with the caption: “This Onam, celebrate with laughter, love, and a little leg-pulling!”
Set primarily in Pune, Hridayapoorvam is billed as a feel-good family entertainer. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Sangita Madhavan Nair, and Siddique in prominent roles. Debutant Sonu TP has written the film's screenplay and dialogues based on a story by Sathyan's son and Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum filmmaker Akhil Sathyan. Its technical crew includes cinematographer Anu Moothedath, art director Prasanth Madhav, sound designer Anil Radhakrishnan, and composer Justin Prabhakaran, known for his work in Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum. Hridayapoorvam is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner.
Mohanlal is enjoying a successful run this year in Malayalam following the back-to-back releases of L2: Empuraan and Thudarum, both of which emerged among the biggest-grossing blockbusters of all time in the industry, according to trade reports. He was last seen in a cameo role in the Telugu mythological epic Kannappa, headlined by Vishnu Manchu, which also features Prabhas and Akshay Kumar in cameos.
