
Telugu actor Raj Tirandasu, who appeared in films like Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 and Tillu Square, is the latest addition to the ensemble cast of Antony Varghese's upcoming actioner Kattalan. The makers confirmed his involvement via a social media post on Monday, stating, "Welcoming the ruthless @rajtirandasu to the world of Kattalan. Raj Tirandasu, best known for his impactful presence in the pan-Indian blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, has earned a reputation for his portrayal of rugged and powerful characters, making him a popular choice for action and mass roles."
Directed by debutant Paul George, Kattalan is billed as a pan-Indian mass action thriller focused on ivory smuggling. The film, which has dialogues penned by novelist and Big B writer Unni R, also features Rajisha Vijayan, Marco-fame Kabir Singh Duhan, Jagadish, Telugu actor Sunil, rapper Baby Jean, and singer Hanan Shaah, best known for his recent hit independent track 'Chirapunji', making his acting debut.
Backed by Marco producer Shareef Muhammed of Cubes Entertainments banner, Kattalan has cinematography by Renadive, editing by Shameer Muhammed and music by Kantara-fame Ajaneesh Loknath. The action sequences will be choreographed by Kecha Khamphakdee, who has worked on films like Ong-Bak 2, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Jawan.
Kattalan, which is yet to begin production, is set for release simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
