Veteran actor Mammootty has personally congratulated the team behind Kerala Crime Files on the success of its second season. The show, directed by Ahammed Khabeer, premiered on JioHotstar on June 20 and has received strong positive responses from viewers and the film industry alike. Speaking to the YouTube channel Fanbella, Ahammed shared that Mammootty’s message of appreciation was the most rewarding moment for the entire crew.

“Our greatest happiness was when Mammookka sent us a message after watching the series,” he said. “He reached out to me, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Harisree Ashokan and others. He simply said, ‘Good work’. It felt as though we had won an Oscar.” Kerala Crime Files follows intense police investigations and has gained a following for its realistic storytelling. The second season, scripted by Kishkindha Kaandam writer Bahul Ramesh, features Arjun Radhakrishnan, Harisree Ashokan, Indrans, Sirajudheen Nazar, Lal and Aju Varghese in prominent roles.

An excerpt from the CE review of the second season of the show reads, "Unlike the first season, KCF 2 is set in a contemporary setting, which means that more technology comes into play during the investigation. However, the availability of call detail records, tower locations, CCTV footage, and advanced forensic techniques often dampens the thrill of investigative stories. Fortunately, these technologies have been employed judiciously to retain the ultimate fun of seeing the policemen being challenged. In fact, one of the most exciting stretches in the show is when policing intuition and technological advancements combine to solve the mystery of a severed finger. It is a delightfully constructed high point where the otherwise sedate show becomes rousing, signifying a shift in stakes. Throughout the show, the makers also respect our intelligence, especially with how the mandatory 'connecting the dots' in the finale doesn't play out conventionally."
