On Tuesday, the makers unveiled the trailer for the upcoming Vijayaraghavan-starrer Ouseppinte Osiyathu. Slated to hit theatres on March 7, the film is directed by debutant Sarath Chandran RJ and is scripted by newcomer Fazal Hassan.
The 2-minute 28-second trailer opens with an aerial shot of a traditional house set in a misty rural landscape, followed by the titular protagonist, Ousep (Vijayaraghavan), gazing thoughtfully at a photograph of his late wife on the wall. He remarks, "Roy is the spitting image of his mother." We are then given glimpses of Ousep's considerable assets, including a 60-acre estate. The trailer proceeds to introduce Ousep’s three sons, played by Dileesh Pothan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and Hemanth Menon, with Zarin Shihab portraying the love interest of one of them. Without revealing much about the central conflict, the trailer offers hints of a hidden secret surrounding the family, seemingly linked to Ousep’s inheritance. It promises to be a gripping, mystery-filled family drama.
According to the makers, Ouseppinte Osiyathu centres on Ousepp, a wealthy man who amassed his fortune through land dealings and money lending. Despite his affluence, he remains miserly. His three sons, despite having secured prestigious positions, remain under his control. However, an unexpected tragedy shakes the family, leading to conflicts that drive the narrative forward. On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Arvind Kannabiran, editing by National Award winner B Ajithkumar and music by Sumesh Parameswar. It is produced by Edward Anthony under the banner of Maygoor Films.
