Malavika Mohanan has started shooting for her new Malayalam film Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad and headlined by Mohanlal. The Thangalaan actor took to social media on Wednesday to share working stills from the film, along with a heartfelt note. Calling it a "dream come true" to collaborate with Sathyan Anthikad and Mohanlal, she shared how much of an influence the two have been in shaping her thoughts on cinema.
"Having grown up watching both of their films, most of them cult classics of the Malayalam film industry, so much of my world view about cinema and the craft of it has been both knowingly & unknowingly been shaped by them," Malavika noted.
The actor also defined Hridayapoorvam as a "beautiful, feel good, slice-of-life story of two strangers meeting at a unique & interesting intersection of their lives". Malavika ended her note with a special mention for Sathyan Anthikad's sons Akhil Sathyan and Anoop Sathyan for being "lovely pillars of support."
Hridayapoorvam has its story by Akhil Sathyan, while debutant Sonu TP pens the screenplay and dialogues. Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala actor Sangita Madhavan Nair, Premalu-fame Sangeeth Prathap, and Siddique also star in pivotal roles. The film has cinematography by Anu Moothedath and music by Justin Prabhakaran. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas, the film is slated to hit theatres on August 25.
