Nivin Pauly calls Pharma a must-watch for every parent

Nivin Pauly is making his web series debut with Pharma, set for premiere on December 19 on JioHotstar. The show was officially launched recently during JioHotstar’s South Unbound event, with Nivin and other team members in attendance.

Speaking at the event, the actor called Pharma a story that holds deep relevance for families, particularly parents. “Pharma is the fight of a common man for future generations. This is a story for kids or parents with kids. While viewers have witnessed many entertaining web series, this one will stand out with its storyline and the value it carries,” he said.

Pharma is written and directed by PR Arun, who earlier scripted the Kunchacko Boban-starrer Jamnapyari and directed Rajisha Vijayan's Finals. Pharma, which marks his digital debut as well, revolves around a medical representative who uncovers unethical practices in the pharmaceutical industry that could endanger many lives, especially children, and his efforts to expose the corruption.

Veteran Hindi actor Rajit Kapur plays a prominent role in the series. Others in the cast include Shruthi Ramachandran, Narain, Veena Nandakumar, Binu Pappu, and Muthumani.

At the event, Nivin also expressed his excitement about stepping into the digital space and his long-standing association with Hotstar. “My collaboration with Hotstar has been for years. Most of my films have been with the platform. Back then, it was the best support an aspiring actor could ask for. It was my long-term wish to do something in the digital space, and doing my first with JioHotstar makes it even more special,” he said.

Besides Pharma, Nivin also has Sarvam Maya releasing in December. The fantasy entertainer directed by Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum-fame Akhil Sathyan is slated to hit screens on Christmas Day.
