Actor Kunchacko Boban has said it is high time the government shifted its priorities from feeding convicts to nourishing schoolchildren. Inaugurating the Subhiksham Thrikkakara breakfast initiative in the Thrikkakara constituency in Kochi, he pointed out that prisoners currently receive better food than many children in schools, calling it a deeply troubling reality that must change.
“It is not to nurture criminals but to protect the innocent that governments must act,” he said. “Providing nutritious breakfast to children is not a favour but a responsibility. Subhiksham Thrikkakara is a model initiative that deserves to be replicated across the state.”
The project, launched under the leadership of MLA Uma Thomas, aims to provide daily breakfast to over 7,000 students studying in 28 government and aided LP and UP schools in the constituency. Following the formal inauguration, Kunchacko Boban joined Uma Thomas and the children for breakfast, sharing a light moment and underscoring the inclusive spirit of the initiative.
Last seen in Officer On Duty, Kunchacko Boban's upcoming slate includes Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval's Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil and Mahesh Narayanan's ambitious multistarrer Patriot, alongside Mammootty, Mohanlal and Fahadh Faasil.
