Earlier, we reported that Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa was set to begin rolling on August 6 in London. On Monday, the Aadujeevitham actor confirmed his departure for the shoot via an Instagram story. The post featured a close-up image of his British Airways boarding pass from Mumbai to London, along with his Indian passport and a pair of sunglasses. The image was captioned with the hashtag #KHALIFA.
Three years after the project announcement, Khalifa was officially launched last month with a pooja ceremony. Directed by Vysakh, the film marks his reunion with Prithviraj after their 2010 hit Pokkiri Raja. The script is written by Jinu V Abraham, who has previously collaborated with the actor on Masters, London Bridge and Kaduva.
Billed as a large-scale action entertainer, Khalifa is backed by Saregama’s Yoodlee Films. The film has cinematography by Jomon T John, music by Jakes Bejoy, editing by Chaman Chakko, and action choreography by Yannick Ben.
Prithviraj was last seen in the Hindi film Sarzameen, alongside Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
