Actor Anupama Parameswaran, who returned to Malayalam cinema after a while with J.S.K – Janaki V v/s State of Kerala, has shared a note on social media expressing gratitude to the audience's response to her performance in the film. "Coming back to Malayalam cinema after a while, I didn’t expect to be welcomed with so much warmth and kindness. Your love for the character truly touched me," she has written.

Anupama added that every message and review about her performance meant the world to her and thanked the audience for seeing Janaki through her. She ended the note by thanking director Pravin Narayanan for trusting her with Janaki and "giving the space to live this role fully."

J.S.K – Janaki V v/s State of Kerala hit screens on July 17 after a major controversy surrounding its title. The film, originally titled J.S.K – Janaki v/s State of Kerala, was initially refused censorship clearance after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) objected to the use of the name 'Janaki' for a rape survivor, citing its association with goddess Sita and concerns over offending religious sentiments. CBFC also recommended several cuts, but later agreed to clear the film if the producers changed the title and muted the name 'Janaki' in two scenes, which they eventually obliged.

The film, headlined by Suresh Gopi and Anupama, is a legal thriller about a sexual assault survivor's fight for justice. The former essayed the role of an advocate in this film, which met with mixed reviews upon release.

Anupama was last seen in a full-fledged role in Malayalam in Jomonte Suvisheshangal (2017). She will be next seen in her home turf in Pet Detective, alongside her Premam co-star Sharafudheen. Her upcoming lineup includes the Malayalam-Telugu bilingual Paradha, and the Tamil films Bison and Lockdown.
