Actor Nazriya Nazim has broken her silence on social media, issuing a statement on Wednesday via Instagram, explaining her prolonged absence from the public and professional spheres. In an emotional note, Nazriya revealed she has been dealing with challenges related to her emotional wellbeing in recent months, which led her to “shut down completely”.

The Ohm Shanthi Oshaana actor expressed regret over missing several personal and professional milestones, including her 30th birthday and the success of her 2024 film Sookshmadarshini. She extended apologies to friends and colleagues for her unavailability and for not responding to calls or messages, stating she was “truly sorry for any worry or inconvenience” caused.

Despite the difficult phase, Nazriya shared a positive update, announcing that she has been honoured with the Best Actress Award at the 48th Kerala State Film Critics Awards for her role in Sookshmadarshini. She shares the accolade with Rima Kallingal, who was recognised for her performance in Theatre: The Myth of Reality.

“It’s been a tough journey,” Nazriya admitted, but assured fans that she is “working on healing and getting better every day”. She emphasised her intention to return fully in due course, thanking her supporters for their patience and understanding.

Meanwhile, Nazriya is set to make her web series debut in the upcoming Tamil show Madras Mystery, which is expected to stream on SonyLIV later this year.
