The release date of Lovely, starring Mathew Thomas as the protagonist, has been pushed to May 02, 2025, the actor announced earlier this Saturday. The so-called "fantasy comedy drama" was initially scheduled for an April release. In an Instagram post announcing the new release date for Lovely, Mathew described it as "a magical fantasy where the smallest things spark the biggest adventures.”

The Dileesh Karunakaran directorial's postponement means it will now arrive in theatres alongside Sarkeet, starring Asif Ali, and Dileep's 150th film Prince and Family. Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Detective Ujjwalan is also a possible May release, although its date remains unconfirmed.

The delay in the release of Lovely comes after the film missed its previously announced release date of April 04, with no official communication from the production team until Mathew's recent announcement. Karunakaran, who also penned the screenplay for Lovely, is known for co-writing successful films such as director Aashiq Abu's Salt N’ Pepper and Mayaanadhi. Interestingly, Aashiq is the director of photography for Lovely, having made his cinematography debut with the film before Rifle Club.

The film also stars Unnimaya Prasad, Manoj K Jayan, Aswathy Ramachandran, Prashanth Murali, Baburaj, Joemon Jothir, Arun Pradeep, Sreejith Ravi, Jayashankar, Ashlin, and Arun. Lovely is produced by Saranya and Dr Amar Ramachandran through Western Ghats Productions and Neni Entertainments. The film has music by Vishnu Vijay and Bijipal, editing by Kiran Das, and production design by Jothish Shankar.
