Veteran actors Mammootty and Mohanlal are reportedly set to share screenspace, after a gap of 11 years, in director Mahesh Narayanan's upcoming film. One schedule of the project is expected to be filmed over 30 days in Sri Lanka, with additional locations including Kerala, Delhi, and London.

According to a report by ETV Bharat, Malayalam Film Producers Association (MFPA) president Anto Joseph, along with producer CV Sarathi and the director, briefed the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena on their plans. While Mahesh confirmed the project to ETV Bharat, he remained tight-lipped regarding further details.

Previously, Antony Perumbavoor, the owner of Aashirvad Cinemas, shared a photograph featuring himself alongside Mohanlal and Mammootty, with a reference to both actors' production banners, hinting at a potential collaboration.

Mammootty and Mohanlal have co-starred in over 50 films throughout their illustrious careers. Their last appearance together was in Ranjith's 2013 film Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty.

Editor-turned-filmmaker Mahesh is best known for helming films like Take Off (2017), C U Soon (2020), Mālik (2021) and Ariyippu (2022). He recently directed a segment titled Sherlock as part of the anthology series Manorathangal, based on the prolific writer MT Vasudevan Nair's short stories.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is gearing up for his directorial debut Barroz, a 3D children's fantasy film where he plays the titular role. The actor also has several projects lined up, including Tharun Moorthy's tentatively titled L 360 opposite Shobana, Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2: Empuraan, and Jeethu Joseph's Ram.

Mammootty, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of debutant Deeno Dennis' Bazooka. His upcoming slate also includes Gautham Vasudev Menon's Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, where he portrays a private detective.
