

On Tuesday, to mark Anurag Kashyap's birthday, the makers of Rifle Club unveiled a character poster featuring the actor-director. Introducing him as Dayanand Bare, the poster shows him in a stylish avatar, wearing sunglasses, multiple gold chains around his neck, and a blood-stained yellow jacket. According to reports, he plays a negative character in the upcoming film. It is directed by Aashiq Abu, who is also doubling as the cinematographer.
Rifle Club is jointly penned by Syam Pushkaran, Dileesh Karunakaran, Suhas, and Sharfu. Apart from Anurag, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Dileesh Pothan, Vishnu Agasthya, Vani Viswanath, Vijayaraghavan, Darshana Rajendran, Vincy Aloshious, Suresh Krishna, Vineeth Kumar, Ramzan Muhammed, Surabhi Lakshmi, Unnimaya Prasad, 'Big Dawgs'-fame rapper Hanumankind, and directors Senna Hegde and Natesh Hegde. It has Rex Vijayan composing the music, V Saajan handling the edits, and Ajayan Chalissery in charge of its production design. Rifle Club is bankrolled by the director's home production OPM Cinemas in association with TRU Stories Entertainment.
Anurag's last feature film appearance was in Maharaja, alongside Vijay Sethupathi. He was also recently seen in the web series Bad Cop. Meanwhile, actor Indrajith Sukumaran earlier confirmed wrapping up the shoot for his Hindi debut, directed by Anurag. It is yet to be confirmed whether this project is the same one headlined by Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, and Joju George.
