The makers of Basil Joseph's Ponman have unveiled a new poster featuring Lijomol Jose, in which the actor appears to be dressed in bridal attire during her character's wedding reception. The upcoming film marks the directorial debut of seasoned production designer Jothish Shankar. It is an adaptation of the 2020 novel Nalanchu Cheruppakar by GR Indugopan, who also jointly penned the screenplay with Minnal Murali co-writer Justin Mathew.
Ponman also features Aavesham-fame Sajin Gopu, Deepak Parambol, Anand Manmadhan, Rajesh Sharma, Jaya Kurup, Vyshnavi Kalyani, Lakshmy Sanju, Reju Sivadas, Maju Anchal, Shylaja P Ambu, K V Kadampanadan, Thankam Mohan and Midhun Venugopal. The film's technical crew includes cinematographer Sanu John Varughese, editor Nidhin Raj Arol and music director Justin Varghese. It is produced by Ajith Vinayaka Films.
Last seen in Vishnu Narayan's Nadanna Sambhavam, Lijomol's upcoming slate in Malayalam includes Premalu director Girish A D's I Am Kathalan and Lijin Jose's Her, alongside Urvashi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Aishwarya Rajesh, Ramya Nambeeshan and Guru Somasundaram. The Jai Bhim actor also has a Malayalam web series titled Blindfold, opposite Arjun Radhakrishnan, and a Tamil film Freedom, headlined by Sasikumar, in the pipeline.
