Actor Sreenath Bhasi was arrested in connection with a road accident involving a car he was allegedly in, which collided with a motorcycle and did not stop afterwards. The police confirmed on Tuesday that he was subsequently released on station bail.
The Ernakulam Central Police registered a case against the actor following the incident, which took place last month in September. The rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Sreenath appeared before the police on Monday, where his arrest was officially recorded, and he was later granted bail, according to a police officer who provided no further details.
The actor was last featured in this year's blockbuster Manjummel Boys, written and directed by Chidambaram. The film, released on February 22, has been claimed by its producers to be the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. Upcoming projects for the Bheeshma Parvam actor include Udumbanchola Vision, Cibil Score, Pongala, Idi Mazha Kaatu, Unlock, Dhuniyavinte Orattathu, Namukku Kodathiyil Kaanam, and Khajuraho Dreams.
