The makers of Marco, featuring Unni Mukundan in the lead, have unveiled the film's teaser on Sunday. Directed by Haneef Adeni, it is a spin-off of his 2018 film Mikhael, headlined by Nivin Pauly.
The teaser of Marco opens with a shot of a man in a suit, likely Unni as Marco, standing alone in a rain-soaked forest, gripping a chainsaw. Over this, Unni’s voiceover begins, asking, 'Do you know what haunts us most in life?' He then continues, 'Seeing our loved ones suffer, lost in pain right before our eyes.' The visuals then cut to Marco, strikingly covered in blood, staring into a cracked, blood-stained mirror. This is followed by lines from Jagadish’s character and a young child, both building up Marco’s menacing reputation, portraying him as a relentless figure who will stop at nothing to destroy his enemies. The teaser delivers fast-paced, brutal glimpses, backing the makers' claim that this will be Malayalam cinema's most violent actioner yet.
Marco also stars Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, Arjun Nandakumar, Durva Thaker, Yukti Tareja, Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, Ishan Shoukath, Siddique and Riyaz Khan. On the technical side, the film has Chandru Selvaraj as the cinematographer, Shameer Muhammed as the editor, and music by KGF-fame Ravi Basrur. It is bankrolled by Shareef Muhammed of Cubes Entertainments, in collaboration with the lead actor’s own production company, Unni Mukundan Films.
