On Sunday, actor-lawyer Sabumon Abdusamad announced his directorial debut with a legal drama featuring Prayaga Martin as part of its principal cast. In a social media post on the occasion of Vijayadashami, Sabumon expressed his enthusiasm for his first outing as a director, stating, “As an advocate of the law, I have always known my first film would come to life in the courtroom.” While he mentioned that he couldn’t reveal too much at this stage, he did share, “The film is a legal drama rooted in realism,” produced by Sanju Unnithan under the banner of Spire Productions. Sabumon also added that he is "excited to have the talented Prayaga Martin on board for the project." Alongside this announcement, he shared a photo with Prayaga and Sanju.

Interestingly, Sabumon recently accompanied Prayaga to the police station during the ongoing investigations into a drug case linked to gangster Om Prakash. The Jallikkattu actor later told the media that he was there as a friend to provide legal help. He also clarified that Prayaga has been cleared of any wrongdoing and emphasised the importance of standing by friends during challenging times.

Sabumon, who gained recognition through the early 2000s television show Tharikida, made his acting debut in the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari (2002). In 2018, he won the inaugural season of the Malayalam version of the reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Mohanlal, a victory that significantly boosted Sabumon’s popularity and led to more film opportunities in subsequent years. Most recently, he appeared in Rajinikanth's latest film Vettaiyan, directed by T J Gnanavel.

Prayaga, known for her roles in both Malayalam and Tamil films, last appeared in Jamalinte Punchiri, directed by Vikki Thambi and headlined by Indrans.
