Director PR Arun, who made Jamna Pyari, Finals and the upcoming Nivin Pauly series Pharma, has started working on a new web series. Dolwin Kuriakose of Theatre of Dreams is producing the series, which went on floors on Friday in Kochi.
The upcoming series stars Anarkali Marikar, Gayathrie Shanker, Reshma Sheriff, Muthumani, Meenakshi Jayan, Riya Jithu, Athira Rajeev, and Adil Ibrahim. It has cinematography by Gautham Sankar, noted for his works in Theevandi and Thankam. Kailas Menon has been assigned as the composer, while edits will be handled by Shameer Muhammed. The makers are yet to reveal any details regarding the show's genre or plotline.
Meanwhile, Arun's maiden series Pharma premiered at the recently concluded International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The Disney+ Hotstar show is about the struggles of a middle-class boy who joins the pharmaceutical industry as a medical representative in his 20s. Nivin Pauly, in his web series debut, plays the lead role of a medical rep, who initially struggles to understand the rules of the game, but grows through his ranks in his 30s and eventually stands up against corruption in the industry. Along with him, the show also stars veteran Bollywood actor Rajit Kapur in a major role. The makers are yet to announce its streaming date.
