Gautham Vasudev Menon calls Manjummel Boys a theatrical high 

Manjummel Boys, the recently released Malayalam film, has been making headlines all around the corner. Apart from ringing the cash registers in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the film has also been gaining appreciation from audiences everywhere. Filmmaker-actor Gautam Vasudev Menon is the recent one who joined the chorus of people who are praising the film.

Taking to his X handle, the filmmaker wrote, "Manjummel Boys - Such a theatrical high experience film, a connect to the magic that cinema is. So nicely done, boys. When 'manidhar unarndhu kolla' comes up on the soundtrack, somehow watching Guna on opening day so many years ago and many times after that made sense to me.

The film, which was released in the theatres on February 22, has surpassed the remarkable sum of Rs 100 crore at the global box office. It is to be noted that the film is the first-ever Malayalam film that has made ten crores in the Tamil Nadu box office.  

Directed by Chidambaram, Manjummel Boys is based on the real-life events. The film stars an ensemble cast including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Lal Jr, Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Jean Paul Lal, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar and Vishnu Reghu among others.

The technical crew of Manjummel Boys comprises cinematographer Shyju Khalid, composer Sushin Shyam, editor Vivek Harshan, and production designer Ajayan Chalissery. It is jointly produced by Soubin Shahir, Babu Shahir, and Shawn Antony.

Meanwhile, on the directorial front, Gautham recently helmed Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha, featuring Varun in the lead role. He also has Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam, featuring Vikram in the lead role in the pipeline. On the acting front, he has NBK109, Viduthalai 2 and Bazooka in various stages of production.
