The makers of Parvathy's new film Ullozhukku (Undercurrent) dropped a promo video on Saturday. It features the actor in a bride's attire posing for photos along with her husband (Prashant Murali), while travelling on a country boat. Along with the short clip, the makers also announced that the teaser will be out on Monday (June 3).
Ullozhukku is the debut feature of Christo Tomy, best known for helming Netflix's true-crime documentary Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case. Earlier, his short films Kamuki (Sweetheart) and Kanyaka (Virgin) won the National Film Awards for Best Direction and Best Debut Film, respectively in the non-feature section.
Ullozhukku, as per the makers, is a drama about lies and deceits in a family and how it affects relationships. It tells the story of a family forced to wait for the floodwaters to subside to bury their loved one, but as they wait, many secrets and lies surface, questioning the very foundation of the family. Urvashi also plays a prominent role in the film, which has Sushin Shyam as the composer.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Honey Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey under their banners the RSVP and the MacGuffin Pictures, the film is set for release on June 21.
