
We had earlier reported that director Major Ravi, known for helming army-based films, has teamed up with Tamil actor Sarath Kumar for a new film titled Operation Raahat. On Sunday, the makers released a teaser of the film on the occasion of its lead actor's birthday. Set in Yemen, the teaser follows a burqa-clad Malayali girl's plea for rescue, unveiling the first glimpse of Sarath Kumar as the man on a mission.
Promising to be a high-stakes thriller, Operation Raahat is based on the operations of the Indian Armed Forces to evacuate Indian citizens and foreign nationals from Yemen during the 2015 military intervention by Saudi Arabia and its allies in that country during the Yemeni Crisis.
The upcoming film also stars Malavika Menon and Roy Malamackal in prominent roles. Planned as a multilingual in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, it is scripted by K Krishnakumar, best known for penning Jeethu Joseph directorials Kooman (2022) and 12th Man (2022). He has also written Jeethu's upcoming film Nunakuzhi, headlined by Basil Boseph.
On the technical front, Operation Raahat has Major Ravi's son Arjun Ravi wielding the camera, Ranjin Raj composing the music and Don Max on the editing table. The film is produced by Ashlin Mary Joy and Anup Mohan under the banner of Presidential Movies International Pvt Ltd.
