Manju Warrier announces Footage trailer release date

Manju Warrier announced through Instagram that the trailer for her upcoming film Footage, starring Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok in the lead roles, will be out at 4:00 pm tomorrow. In the trailer date announcement post, the actor thanked Anurag Kashyap for his association with the film, as she shared a video where the Hindi filmmaker talks about it and Malayalam cinema in general. She wrote, "THANK YOU ANURAG !!! I'm trying to find words to express my excitement in associating with one of my favourites @anuragkashyap10 who is known to break stereotypes and has always taken unconventional paths to make revolutionary films! And can't think of a better film than FOOTAGE to associate with such a trailblazing film maker. We are extremely honoured Anurag!"

In the video, Anurag says, "I am so extremely proud to present Footage. It is a new Malayalam film, and like in last one year, we have constantly been seeing such amazing work coming from Malayalam cinema. They are reinventing genres and trying new things, and Footage is a prime example of something so new. I am so honoured to be associated with the film. We are going to release the trailer soon."

Footage is described as the first found-footage film in Malayalam cinema. It marks the directorial debut of Saiju Sreedharan, best known as the editor of films such as Maheshinte Prathikaram, Mayaanadhi, Kumbalangi Nights, Virus, and Anjaam Pathiraa. Besides directing the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Shabna Mohammed, Saiju has edited the film. It also has cinematography by Shino and original motion picture soundtrack by the music band aswekeepsearching. Produced by Bineesh Chandran and Saiju Sreedharan, Footage is slated for an August 2 release in theatres.
